Wout Albers

Wout started his career as a litigation attorney in 2012, putting into practice his enormous professional and personal involvement towards social, environmental, and human rights related legal issues. Throughout the years, thanks to his heart for the protection of the vulnerable and due to his participation in several human rights related “fact-finding-missions” in Latin America, he developed a high level of knowledge and expertise in the field of international human rights and environmental law.

Wout speaks Dutch, English, German, French and Spanish and has been the president of the Latin America focus group of Dutch non-profit organization Lawyers for Lawyers for more than eight years. He is also one of the founders and board members of the Dutch section of the UK based organization Caravana de Juristas a Colombia, and member of the FBE Human Rights Commission. Wout is the leading attorney in the case of the family and organization of the assassinated Berta Caceres against Dutch development bank FMO for lack of their duty to care in the financing of the Agua Zarca dam project.

Wout is subscribed at the Amsterdam bar and the Dutch bar, and has as registered areas administrative and civil law including civil procedure.

Adil José Meléndez Marquez

Adil is an experienced litigation lawyer specialized in the protection of human rights, transitional justice, administration law, environmental law, and labor law. He has been representing victims of human rights violations in Colombian conflict areas since 2006. Moreover, Adil is dedicated to the protection of nature, biodiversity and living environment of indigenous people threatened by the presence and activities of national and multinational corporations. His extensive experience, focus on teamwork, and respect for the most vulnerable people of the world, are the fundamental pilars of Adil’s mission in life.

Adil is a member of the Caravana Internacional de Juristas and the Alianza Mundial de Mandatorios y Líderes Africanos y Afrodescendientes, both NGO’s founded for the protection of human rights.

Ron Rosenhart Rodriguez

Ron specializes in Dutch and international corporate law and corporate governance. By connecting his professional expertise to a strong personal interest for the protection of human rights in Latin America, he advises on legal issues concerning victims of environmental and human rights violations committed by local and multinational companies across the globe.

Ron holds a master’s degree in Dutch private law (graduated in 2013), is fluent in Dutch, English and Spanish, and is a member of the Latin America focus group of Dutch non-profit organization Lawyers for Lawyers.

Floor Elize Knoote

Human Rights Researcher and Criminologist

Floor is a human rights researcher with over 12 years of experience in the investigation of rights violations linked to government and corporations. She was academically trained as a criminologist and the investigation of international crimes, applying legal and criminological research methods.
She has managed a vast number of field investigations in countries such as Colombia, Egypt, Ethiopia, Jordan, Vietnam, and Uganda to provide evidence for case development and advocacy strategies for clients such as the American Bar Association Human Rights Program, Amnesty International, Friends of the Earth Netherlands, Fair Wear Foundation and the VU University’s Department of Criminal Law and Criminology.
Floor specialises in bridging the accountability gap for human rights violations linked to corporations and financial institutions. The retaliation against women's rights defenders, and the suppression of critical feminist voices - and how to counter this – also have a prominent focus in her work. For justice and accountability purposes, she has documented human rights abuses in the extractives, garment, and agribusiness industries and those linked to (international) financial institutions.
